  • Indoor meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month, September to May (except for December) at 7:00 pm in the basement of the Penticton United Church, 696 Main Street (blue church on the corner of Main & Eckhardt). Please bring your own coffee mug ---- New members always welcome.

  • Our birding, wildflower, geology, social group meets every Thursday in the north parking lot of Cherry Lane Mall (north of Warren Ave. and east of Atkinson St.) at 9 AM (SPRING hrs).

  • Field Trips are generally made in the spring and fall.

October 26: SONC Annual General Meeting, celebration of SONC’s 55th anniversary with pizza night and Guyana: 800+ Species of Birds
Merle Kindred returns from six months in South America with much to share about life in this global “hot spot” of birding. Georgetown boasts a variety of hawks, egrets, herons, the noisy Kiskadee, and Orange-winged Amazons circling in screeching flocks at dawn and dusk. Do attend the October meeting and learn more about this jewel-like country of 80 percent intact rainforests with abundant flora and fauna.

2018 Nature Photo Contest
The Club is sponsoring a photo contest open to all residents of the RDOS - you need not be a member of SONC. There will be a number of categories such as landscape, waterfowl, birds, wild flowers, etc. Prizes will be given in all categories with the total value of prizes in excess of $4,000. Photos must have been taken within the boundaries of the RDOS. There will be a $5 fee per entry but a 20% discount for 5 or more entries (5 entries will cost $20). Exact details of the entry process will be posted soon - payment will be by PayPal on the website. Entries will be due in the spring of 2018.
